It is owned (managed) by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) Congregation of the St. Thomas Province Calicut. Christ School Poonch is designed in accordance with the vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the great spiritual luminary of the 19th century and the founder of the CMI congregation. The vision of our founder was given roots in Poonch by Fr. Joseph Paikada CMI. The School grew in the pioneering leadership and tutelage of Rev. Fr. Joseph Paikada CMI. Rev. Fr. Jacob Keekirikattil CMI, Mr. Asok Dewan and Bro. Joseph Mannaparambil CMI too helped Rev. Fr Jospeh Paikada CMI in realizing the dream of Christ School Poonch. Even in its very young years, the school was a contender to be reckoned with not only because of its physical attributes but mainly because of the staff whose calibre was manifested in the academic performance of students. Rev. Fr Jospeh Paikada played a pivotal role in the success stories of the school and has placed it in the educational map of Poonch. In 2007 Fr. Mathew Nelledath CMI who got groomed under Rev Fr. Jospeh Paikada CMI took the baton of Christ School Poonch. He continued the good work his predecessors began with sincerity and Zeal. Under the guidance of Fr. Mathew Nelledath CMI Christ School Poonch flourished and even spread its branch to Degwar which is now a School Affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi.
