The School Rules and Regulations for the Christ School Poonch to ensure discipline, cleanliness, and a conducive learning environment. Below is a comprehensive summary of the key rules:

A. Dress & Personal Cleanliness

  1. Uniform: Students must wear the correct, neat, clean, and ironed school uniform.
  2. ID Card: Mandatory to wear the Student ID Card on school premises, including practice days. Loss of ID requires reporting to the class teacher; and buy the new one form the office
  3. Improper Uniform: Students with improper uniforms face a one-day suspension from class.
  4. Accessories: No fancy watches, chains, studs, earrings (except simple earrings for girls), nose rings, or belts. No coloring/spiking/gelling hair, nail polish, eyeliner/kajal, tattoos, or henna. Violations lead to detention for the day and suspension the next day.
  5. Hygiene: Personal cleanliness and neatness are mandatory. Boys must keep hair short, and girls must pin/tie hair neatly. Non-compliance may result in being sent home.

B. Document Updates

  1. Address Updates: Any change in parents’/guardians’ address must be promptly reported to the school office.

C. School Property

  1. Care: No scribbling, writing, or drawing on furniture or walls. Willful damage requires compensation and a one-day suspension.
  2. Damage: Accidental damage must be reported to the class teacher. Willful damage requires compensation and a one-day suspension.
  3. Cleanliness: Students must keep premises clean and dispose of litter in dustbins.

D. Behaviour / Discipline

  1. Respect: Students must respect and obey teachers and school authorities.
  2. Prohibited Actions: No running, playing, or shouting in classrooms/corridors during school hours. Fights or physical/verbal abuse lead to stringent action, including suspension or dismissal.
  3. Physical Abuse: One-day detention for physical abuse, with 3-day suspension depending on severity.
  4. Chewing Gum: Strictly forbidden; possession leads to one-day detention and next-day suspension.
  5. Loitering: No loitering in classrooms during breaks or special periods
  6. Toilet/Water Breaks: Avoided during class unless medically necessary, with written notice and medical certificate.
  7. Movement: Perfect silence and order required when moving between classes or locations.
  8. Entry/Exit: Permission via Entry/Exit pass needed for leaving/entering class outside breaks.
  9. General Conduct: Irregular attendance, idleness, disobedience, exam malpractices, or harmful conduct may lead to dismissal.
  10. External Behaviour: Students are accountable for their behavior outside school, with objectionable conduct leading to disciplinary action.
  11. Politeness: Courtesy and cleanliness in speech and conduct are expected.
  12. Participation: Mandatory participation in co-curricular and school activities.
  13. Eating/Drinking: Bringing of Chips, Biscuits, cooldrinks, Jung food , Non Veg etc are strictly prohibited

E. Electronics / Fancy Materials / Maintenance of Study Materials

  1. Electronics Ban: No cameras, mobile phones, video games, smart phones, data watches, or iPods. Confiscated mobiles are returned to parents at years end, with a one-day suspension.
  2. Reading Materials: No story books (except school library books), magazines, or puzzles unless issued by the school. Confiscated items are not returned.
  3. Book Maintenance: Books must be labeled and neatly maintained.
  4. Primary Restrictions: No metal rulers, scissors, compass, or divider sets unless specified by the teacher.

F. Enforcing Discipline

  1. Methods: Discipline enforced via positive/negative remarks, teacher observations, cautionary letters, Yellow Card / Red Card entries, detention, and suspension. All must be signed by parents.
  2. Yellow Card Entries: Warning Cards for not Wearing Proper Uniform, Late coming, Indiscipline etc
  3. Red Card Entries: For grave indiscipline, property damage, violence, abusive language, absenteeism on key days, loss of ID. Three consecutive disciplinary cautionary notes may lead to expulsion.

G. Banned Items

  1. Scissors, mobile phones, headphones, non-school books, fancy items, markers, highlighters, data watches, iPods, toys, cosmetics, perfumes/deodorants, Jung Food, Chewing Gum, smart watches, etc

H. School Timings

  1. Arrival: Summer : 7.50 AM: Winter 8.50 AM:
    Dispersal: Summer: 2.00 PM: Winter 3.00 PM
  2. Late Entry: No entry to class after assembly starts
  3. Parental Access: Parents not allowed in premises after during the recess
  4. Pickup: Parents/drivers wait in designated areas, not corridors/classrooms.

I. Meeting the Staff

  1. Staff Reporting: Summer: 7.45 am Winter 8.45 am
  2. Parent Meetings: Can Meet Teachers on Every Saturday Timing: (Summer:1.00 PM t0 2.00 PM) (Winter: 2.00 PM to 3.00 PM)
  3. Appointments: Meetings with Principal/Vice Principals/Coordinators/Counsellor require prior appointments.
  4. Parental Availability: Parents must be available when summoned by school authorities.

J. PTA Meetings

  1. Attendance: Both parents must attend Orientation and Parents Meeting with students in uniform.
  2. Report Cards: Will be published in the App
  3. Compulsory: Attendance on Result Publication date is mandatory.

K. Attendance and Leave of Absence

  1. Mandatory Days: Attendance required on the first/last day of each semester and reopening/closing of summer/winter breaks.
  2. Leave Notes: Parents must note absences in the School Handbook.
  3. Medical Leave: 3-5 days absence requires a medical certificate, sanctioned by Vice Principal/Coordinator. Over 5 days needs Principal’s written sanction.
  4. Yellow Card: Absence on key days (with/without permission) results in a Yellow Card entry.
  5. No Leave: Leave notes not entertained during the first/last week of school unless pre-approved.
  6. Leaving Early: Requires Principal/Vice Principal/Coordinator permission, with parents reporting in person and filling an application.
  7. Sick Students: Not allowed during exams/evaluations.
  8. Medical Notes: Required for all absences due to illness.
  9. Extended Leave: No consideration for extra leave or travel.
  10. Pickup: Students not sent with drivers/friends without written parental request.
  11. Prolonged Absence: Over a month without permission may lead to removal from rolls, requiring re-admission.
  12. Contagious Diseases: Students with diseases (e.g., chickenpox, cholera) must follow quarantine periods and provide a fitness certificate.
  13. Attendance Requirement: Minimum 75% attendance required for final evaluations and promotion, relaxable for medical reasons but ineligible for awards.

L. Payment of Fees

  1. Due Dates:
    Monthly: Before 15 th of every Month

M. Celebration of Birthdays / Gift Giving Policy

  1. Birthdays: Students may wear decent colored clothes and distribute common chocolates/sweets to classmates/teachers, but not disturb other classes.
  2. Restrictions: No fancy gifts, cakes, or snacks. A library book donation is encouraged instead.
  3. Teacher Gifts: Parents must not gift individual teachers; any distribution to staff requires Principal’s approval.

N. After-School Practices

  1. Participation: Mandatory for co-curricular activities.
  2. Uniform: Students must wear school uniform prescribed by the School.
  3. Pickup: Parents must pick up wards promptly; school isn’t responsible post-hours unless noted by a teacher.

O. Photography

  1. Official school photos may be used for magazines/news articles.

P. Social Media Usage Policy

  1. Restrictions: No posting/liking negative comments about the school, classmates, teachers, parents, or management.
  2. Purpose: To maintain a positive, respectful online environment and promote digital citizenship.
  3. Consequences: Violations lead to disciplinary action, up to dismissal.
  4. Responsibility: Students must know and follow the policy; ignorance is no excuse.
  5. Agreement: Enrolment implies agreement to this policy by students and parents.

General Notes

  1. Amendments: The school management reserves the right to add, alter, or amend rules, binding on parents and students.
